The Official Raspberry Pi 5 Active Cooler provides an alternative cooling solution for users who wish to use their Raspberry Pi 5 under sustained heavy load without a case. It combines a large aluminum metal heatsink with a variable-speed blower, again powered and controlled via the fan connector, and attaches to the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB via sprung pins into a pair of mounting holes.
An aluminum heatsink with a built-in fan and thermal pads for easy mounting on the Raspberry Pi 5 using spring-loaded push pins. The fan is managed by the Pi 5 firmware, which adjusts speed based on CPU temperature to prevent throttling during heavy workloads. With compatibility for hats via a 16mm header adapter, it remains effective, though with slightly reduced airflow. Operating quietly at 35–45 dB, it can function passively for short periods. A must-have for Raspberry Pi 5 overclocking enthusiasts, it ensures optimal cooling and performance.
Note: The Raspberry Pi 5 board is not included.
