The SmartElex RS-485 Transceiver Breakout Module features the SP3485 RS-485 transceiver IC, designed to convert UART serial data to RS-485 communication. As a half-duplex transceiver, the SP3485 allows one-way communication at a time, with data transmission speeds of up to 10Mbps. It operates efficiently on minimal power and requires just a single +3.3VDC supply.
The board includes the SP3485 transceiver, a filter capacitor, and additional components outlined in the schematic. The RS-485 output is conveniently accessible through three connection options: an RJ-45 connector, a 3-pin 3.55mm screw terminal, and a 3-pin 0.1″ pitch header. Please note that none of these output connectors come pre-installed, offering flexibility for various project needs.
